Prof Dr. Subhash Khanna is the Founding President of the Association of Robotic and Innovative Surgeons, Dean of Swagat Academy of medical Sciences and the Chief Trustee of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons IAGES, He is also past president of  Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons and also of Assam state chapter of ASI. He is one of the leading laparoscopic surgeon of North-east India known for his many pioneering work. He has been at the forefront in educating young surgeons of the country in MAS techniques. 

An eminent teacher, a dedicated worker, Dr. Khanna has many firsts to his credit. Apart from delivering over 200 CME Lectures & Orations & contributing many chapters to journals and publications , he has also been instrumental in starting advanced laparoscopic surgery, ERCP, NBI, Spyglass cholangioscopy, Endoscopic Thyroidectomy, Bariatric surgery, VAAFT and Robotic Surgery for the first time in the North East India.

He is also the Congress President of World Congress of endoscopic Surgery- 2024 being held in Kolkata from 23rd to 26th October 2024.

Prof Subhash Khanna is also recipient of many prestigious orations and awards including Santokh Singh Anand Oration (ASI - 2014), G. P. Sharma Oration, R. H Karmakar Oration (ICS - 2016) and Prof Umesh Ch. Goswami oration of Gauhati University,Prof Chandramohan Anderson oration for the year 2018, and also “Siva Hospital Endowment Oration  for the year 2019” 

He is chief editor of “Recent Advances in Minimal Access Surgery” and Chief Editor of “International Journal of Advanced Robotic & Innovative Surgery”. He is also serving as the Honorary visiting Professor of Surgical Gastroenterology of GSL Medical College and is recently elected as the Editor of Flexible Endoscopy “Journal of Minimal Access Surgery.
