In a remarkable achievement for the state’s healthcare sector, a successful kidney transplant was performed at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Two kidneys from a deceased donor at Maligaon’s Swagat Super Specialty Hospital were retrieved and transplanted into a patient at GMCH.

The complex surgical procedure was carried out by a dedicated team of 15 expert doctors under the leadership of Dr. Subhash Khanna and Ayushman Khanna. Their expertise and coordination ensured the seamless execution of this critical operation, further strengthening the state’s organ transplantation efforts.

This achievement marks a significant step forward in advanced medical procedures and organ donation awareness, offering new hope to patients in need of life-saving transplants.
